Decision:
Decision is an act of making up your mind for something. It is a position or a situation or in other words an opinion reached after consideration. Decision making is done when there is a problem occurring in your work.
Problems & Decisions in Management:
Structured Problems:- Structured problems that arises based on goals which are clear, are much familiar and have occurred before and such problem’s solutions are available.
Programmed Decisions:-
A programmed decision is such decision managers take which is based on their routine tasks and can be handled by a routine approach.
Programmed Decisions are clearer by reviewing its types which are:
A Policy: A general guideline for making and control a decision about a structured problem.
A Procedure: A sequence of interrelated steps that a person can use to react to a structured problem.
A Rule: An open statement that restricts what a manager or employee can or cannot do in carrying out the steps involved in a working procedure.
Unstructured Problems That Management Faces:-
Unstructured problems are such problems that management is not used to it and that art new for which information regarding its solution is incomplete. For such situations, managers use some procedures and react to it by non programmed decision making.
Non Programmed Decision Making:-
Non programmed decisions are those decisions which are non recurring and unique to the management. Such decisions create new responses to such unique problems which solves out the problem.
All decisions that a manager makes should be ethical and wise so that the problem could be solves out for sure not to generate another problem from the last one. Strong leaders understand the decision process to solve out all issue more effectively.
